    It is splendid!
And it be beautiful if sing and can inherit WE ARE THE WORLD in the prize winners of the Grammy award every year from now on.

I hope in the end we will still hear Michael’s voice in this new version, as it should be, as we hope it will always be.

PLEASE KEEP MICHAEL JACKSON’S VOICE ON THE RE-RECORDING. This version will be hollow without him. I like Janet but she shouldn’t be singing his part. No one compares to Michael. He was perfection. Besides, he’s not here to participate in this production SO KEEP HIS VOICE IN THE RECORDING IN HONOR OF HIM AND AS HIS CONTRIBUTION TO “THIS PRODUCTION”. He created the entire melody and wrote most of the song. It is only fitting that HE remain on the recording.

Please Keep Michael’s voice in the new recording of WE ARE THE WORLD as a tribute to the greatest entertainer who ever lived. He deserves this and much more! For MJ!

PLEASE LEAVE MICHAEL JACKSON’S VOICE FOR THE NEW 2010. HIS VOICE IS SO SPECIAL AND IT WOULD DO HIM GREAT HONOR AND DO YOU GREAT WISDOM TO LEAVE SUCH AN ICONIC AND ETERNAL VOICE AS MICHAELS ON THIS ALBUM. I DON’T THINK ANYONE ON THE NEW 2010 VERSION WOULD OPPOSE.

Hey Quincy, that’s really cool what you’re doing. Learned a lot from your autobiography too. Thanks

Quincy, Please clear up any and all misconceptions about the song “We Are The World”. Apparently, a rumor has gone about and circulated back about Michael Jackson’s voice being removed. I’ve done my best to say, and you can quote me on this, “Michael’s voice is not being removed from the original track, nor has anyone else’s voice been removed.” To me, You’ve put a new class of voices together to commemorate Michael Jackson’s influence with this song, and to raise money for the charities who are helping Haiti through this catastrophe.

I would like to be a music producer could you give me some ideas. sorry to use this site to ask you about this but I would like to become a music producer. can you advise me. thanks.sorry to trouble you like this but I want to hear what you have to say, ok, thanks…

Quincy, PLEASE reconsider removing Michael’s voice from We Are the World. It doesn’t matter who you get to sing Michael’s part, it will not be the same. I heard that his children will contribute a spoken poem which is also beautiful (Michael would love that). But since Michael is no longer here to help produce the project, it FEELS LIKE YOU ARE ERASING HIS LEGACY. PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS. Michael means so much to so many people who are still grieving beyond words. WITH MICHAEL’S VOICE ON THE SONG, IT WILL RAISE MORE MONEY FOR HAITI. Please reconsider.

Mr Jones please, do not remove the original Michael Jackson´s voice from the song.
This song without her voice, not be the same.
    Thanks.

Quincy why did u not leave Michael Jackson’s voice in this classic or even why did this group not sit down and make a complete new song for that matter and leave WE ARE THE WORLD AS IT WAS AND STILL IS A CLASSIC SUNG BY CLASSIC PEOPLE

Quincy and Lionel, it feels like you are stealing Michael’s legacy by not telling the world how MICHAEL created this song and that Lionel’s contribution was minor and added after Michael created the entire song. Lionel, BE HUMBLE like Michael was and share the truth with the world. People will love you for it.
Raising money for Haiti is great (I’ve donated money weeks ago and will continue to donate). I only ask that in doing this, you do it with RESPECT for Michael. PLEASE LEAVE MICHAEL’S ORIGINAL VOCALS ON THE RE-RECORDING.
**The original song should be on the album for all of us who prefer the original.**
Also, as others have stated, I think re-releasing Michael’s “WHAT MORE CAN I GIVE”, would be most appropriate and would raise a lot of money for Haiti.
SONY, TALK TO THE JACKSON ESTATE ABOUT RE-RELEASING MICHAEL’S
“WHAT MORE CAN I GIVE” WITH THE PROCEEDS GOING TO HAITI. PLEASE DO THIS. IT WOULD RAISE A LOT OF MONEY FOR THE PEOPLE OF HAITI.

As we all know, Michael wrote this song almost by himself. Lionel added like three or four lyrics to the song and that was about it. This is Michael’s creation and they all know this. I will NOT purchase this new version if Michael’s voice is not on it. I loved the orginal version very much and it is one of the best songs of all time because Michael was in it. Just re-release the original version and it would generate more money.

  • Posted February 06, 2010 by Diya

“Original collaborators, Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie decided to ask a new generation of artists to rerecord the song to benefit those in Haiti.
    I don’t like the idea .
    Why borrow/re-record?
So many of them, in the “new” generation, give credit to Michael’s influence in their lives & careers; well . . . show us what you’ve learned: Why not just write a song for Haiti?

It’s Not Going TO Be The Same Without Michael.
The Greatest Singers Ever Came Together In “We Are The World”
The Singers Today, They’re Ok. They’re Not Legends.
All I’m Saying Is, It’s Not Going TO Be A Hit Like How It Was In 1985.
Michael Is A Legend. They Should Put Michael On It Because He Made “We Are The World” Happen.
    && Saved Alot Of People.

The should have used the never released Michael Jackson charity song WHAT MORE CAN I GIVE THAT THANKS TO SONY NEVER GOT ITS EXPOSURE, THEY WOULD HAVE NOW HAVE A CHANCE TO BRING IT FORTH TO THE WORLD WHICH IT DESERVES. WHAT SURPRISES ME IS THAT THE ARTISTS THAT PARTICIPATED IN THAT SONG NEVER RALLIED FOR MICHAEL FOR IT TO BE RELEASED MOST OF ALL CELINE SHOULD HAVE REMEMBERED IT WELL ESPECIALLY SINCE SHE THANKED MICHAEL VERY EMOTIONALLY IN THE DEMO ‘FOR WRITING SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SONG”. With that said I feel they should have never touched such a classic from Michael as WE ARE THE WORLD and concentrated on the as Michael said ‘SEQUEL OF WE ARE THE WORLD NAMELY WHAT MORE CAN I GIVE!!!!!!

  • Posted February 06, 2010 by Diya

It will be unfair and a shame to not put Michael Jackson on the record. This is his invent, his idea, his! If he did not write We Are the World song with Lionel, this project now would not exist. Put the King of Entertaining!

    Morning Fellow Michael Jackson Fans,
I think that is a wonderful idea. I heard about on the Grammy Awards
    and on the News.
They oughta fine someway to put Michael Jackson’s voice on it also. I know
that would be the first thing he would do, is go to Haiti and help the children
    there.
I forgot when the new version of “We Are the World” will be released.
    Sincerely,
    Terry

    Dear QUINCY,
If you read this, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, DON’T take Michael off the record!! It’s so not right! It’s HIS song! HIS heart! Please don’t rob him of his own creation! I beg you! As his dear friend, please give him the respect he deserves, and leave him on the record!

At the first moment.. This project looks great and promising and reflect the humanity and giving behind the idea .. I am sure that Michael Joseph Jackson (RIP) is very happy for that project.. But the negative side is that the project will reproduce the artistic legacy of the greatest musician and philanthropist- Michael Joseph Jackson (RIP) who is legendary and invincible.. Really, this is not a good idea.. So, Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie can write another song instead of reproduction and alteration of the original one.. The best idea is to reissue the original song and I am sure that it will achieve more records than the newer version.. The people looking for the professionals like Michael Jackson and the other singers in the original album not to the new generation of singers.. But if the new generation want to contribute in the humanitarian work, then they can write and produce different song..

  • Posted February 06, 2010 by Kelsey

It’s great that you are doing this but I think Michael’s voice should be left on the recording. His sang his part so passionately (not like the others did not), but leaving his voice on the recording could be another way to pay respect. After all he did help write the song with Lionel Richie.

  • Posted February 06, 2010 by Ciara Jones

There are so many people who want MJ’s recording to stay on the track, which I think it should be too BUT I would love it if him and Ms. Janet shared the part. For example Michael should continue to sing “when your down and out”, and then Ms. Janet could sing “there seems no hope at all”. I don’t know if anyone would agree with me BUT that sounds like a good idea to me since so many are about to lose their minds over this!!!

    Much Love,
    Ciara

    Mr. Quincy Jones,
I speak on behalf of the millions of Michael Jackson fans. Please Please Please incorporate Michael’s voice in the new version of “We Are The World” help for Haiti. He would’ve loved to be just as much a part of this as he was to help Africa 25 years ago.
    Thank You,

Please leave Michael Jackson’s original voice recordings in your remake of “We Are The World”!! He put his whole heart and soul into composing and performing this song, and it really wouldn’t be the same without his voice and his influence!! I know this would also mean a lot to his family and all of his fans!! Thank you!!

Leave MJ’s voice on We Are The World.

  • Posted February 06, 2010 by Silvily

Please, please, please include Michael Jackson’s vocals on the new version of We are the World. This song is so much that is Michael, it just doesn’t seem right to redo this song and not acknowledge his input/energy/love. I can not even envision this song without him. While many stars contributed to the original, Michael is the star that shone (and still shines) brighest.
    With love, L.O.V.E.

THEY WRECKED HIS “EARTH SONG” AT GRAMMIES THEY JUST CAN’T COME CLOSE TO MICHAEL’S PERFORMANCE.SO WE THE FANS ARE GONNA PROTECT MICHAEL JACKSON’S LEGACY.I HOPE THAT YOU WILL RESPECT HIS ART.LET’S HONOR HIM IN DEATH BY LEAVING EVERYTHING THAT MICHAEL ORIGINALLY POSSESED OR HAD HANDS IN MAKING A-L-O-N-E!!
WE AS MICHAEL FANS WILL FOREVER SUPPORT EFFORTS TO HELP AS LONG AS WE KNOW THAT MICHAEL’S LEGACY IS NOT BEING COMPROMISED!!!!
WE WILL NOT SUPPORT ANY REMAKING OF “WE ARE THE WORLD” !!!!!!!
YOU COULD HAVE PRESENTED “WE ARE THE WORLD” AS ITS 25TH YEAR IN MEMORY OF MICHAEL!!! SALES WOULD SURPASS THE 23 MILLION SOLD 25 YEARS AGO.
AS I STATED, WE WILL SUPPORT AND GIVE LIKE MICHAEL WANTED US TO DO THROUGHOUT HIS MANY SONGS AND SPEECHES. BUT UNDERSTAND, WE WILL NOT ALLOW COMPROMISING ON ANY LEVEL TO DESTROY MICHAEL’S LEGACY. WE LOVE MICHAEL, HIS CHILDREN, AND THE JACKSON FAMILY. IT’S ALL FOR LOVE L-O-V-E

HERE IN MEXICO WE LOVE AND SUPPORT OUR HAITI BROTHERS AS WELL AS YOUR MUSIC.

GOD BLESS YOU AND ALL THE ARTISTS INCLUDED.

I think you should put Michael Jacksons voice on the new recording of We Are The World because his voice reaches into the hearts of people. I also hope you will write and publish your own memories of MJ for his fans. Thanks

    Dear Mr. Jones,

I know you’ll probably never read these words, even though this is allegedly your official web site. Moreover, I know you’ll not care one whit about my complaint; nor will it result in anything being changed…

…but I must say that I am stunned by your use of auto-tune/auto-pitch technology on the vocals in the new version of “We Are the World.” It completely ruined what might otherwise have been something truly remarkable.

For my money, the first version was light years better. At least it was real.

You are a music industry icon. Please don’t tarnish your lifetime of remarkable achievement by the use of cheap electronic parlor tricks.

Now, all that said, the motivation behind re-making the song is laudable; and with that I have no argument. May it far exceed its goals.

But in the future, I beg of you: Please, stop using auto-tune/auto-pitch technology. Please.

    Dear Quincy,

I wuld love to donate by buying the song. However, could I get it through Amazon or other electronic means as well? I do not like iTunes as it always messed up my computers. I do not trust Apple.

    Thanks,
    Tom.

Your efforts for Haiti are laudable and appreciated.

But maybe it’s time for you and other music legends to create the American version of that song – i.e., “We are AMERICA” – with the intent of raising awareness (and donations) for our own devastated cities of New Orleans and Detroit. The music industry should both recognize and help out two great American cities that have had profound influence on and contributed significantly to what defines American music.

If you haven’t visited these cities recently, you should and witness the entrenched poverty. These are economically devastated communities whose circumstances have been exacerbated by the recession. They are facing long-term struggles much like those of third world counties. Ironically, though, no one is pay attention to them because they are in our own backyard!

Please do something for our own!

    Hello Mr. Jones, (concerning Haiti)

I am a german singer and actress and a big fan of you. My Name is Hiltrud Linnemann. I was a student and friend of Jerry van Rooyen, who died in September 2009 like many great people, so as Michael. It makes me sad.
    I would like to help.
