Q supports Down syndrome research
The Anna and John J. Sie Foundation recently launched a major campaign to change the nation’s approach to Down syndrome. The Foundation’s goal is to significantly increase public and private research aimed at eradicating the ill effects associated with the chromosomal disorder and improve the health outcomes for the 400,000 people in the United States, and millions worldwide, with the condition.
Quincy is a spokesman and strong supporter of the campaign. “This is a real civil rights issue,” Quincy said. “People with Down syndrome have every right to believe the medical and research communities are working just as hard to figure out Down syndrome as they are Alzheimer’s and other diseases and disorders. People with Down syndrome deserve a right to excellent medical care and a public education. Unfortunately this doesn’t always happen the way it should in our country and we must advocate on their behalf. That is why the Linda Crnic Institute is so important – it will move research, education and advocacy for these beautiful children.”
Stepping up to address such issues is nothing new for Quincy, which was noted in an article recently published in the Denver Post. “I’ve been doing this all my life,” he said, noting his efforts to help children in need, which include “We Are the World,” the 1985 all-star charity effort. “This is part of my DNA,” Jones said as he looked around Monday at the many young children with Down syndrome. “John [Sie] is like my brother. We’ve got to step up.”

Hey, Quincy! I couldn’t vote for Obama if he were the last person on the earth. He really is scary, even more than the Thriller video that I just watched. He is really creepy. There are tow sides of the coin when it comes to redistribution of resources: One is where we are encouraged to share and we chose to share, to be charitable, in my church it was called the united order, on the other side of the planet, it was forced on people and it was called communist. It is essentially the same war that raged in the pre-existence, the war of agency. The war between good and evil. Obama is unfortunately, not allowing us to properly vet him. I can only conclude that he is hiding something. If elected and he starts taxing taxing the forces of prosperity, we will all suffer the consequences. Vote McCain. Still love Quincy!
I am interested in learning what I can do to donate a portion of my book sales to this organization. Please share the necessary information. You can read more about my mission at http://jimturnersmm.ning.com/forum/topics/consumine-desire. After my brother was shot and killed by a 14 year old in a store robbery, I made my mind up to dedicate my life’s work for the betterment of young people.
Thank you so much for emailing me.
Respectfully,
Carlos
Hey Q! –this is a good thing. By the way, I’m still playing jazz in Seattle, thanks to you….who got me started at Garfield.
By the way, my Sister Patricia Love did a lot of work at the UofW in the Down’s program and has been published internationally for the use of music in the teaching process of this handicap.
I have glorified in your progress and recognition over the years and always treasured the fact that you were my friend.
Good-oh!
Mike
